Valentine's Day for My Mother

My mother called me in hysterics last night. Apparently, she had an exterminator come and spray their apartment in NYC for mice. Unfortunately, this caused some of the mice to come out of hiding and die in her kitchen, while others were still scurrying around waiting for the poison to do its job. Mom was NOT happy about this. She just wanted to go into her kitchen (which, by the way, is like the central hub of their apartment) for a glass of wine. Instead, she decided that running out of the house and going to her local bar would be an easier way to get a drink. Shari's love for animals is quite well known in the animal kingdom and, therefore, the mice were deeply saddened that they had not managed to evoke any compassion from my mother. They contacted me this morning hoping that I could act as a liaison for them and deliver these very special Valentine's Day cards that they made for her.
